Relationship Challenges & Relationship Concerns

“Relationships are easy,” said no one ever.

All we want to do is to share our life with our loved ones and have them feel the same warmth and happiness that we do.

We grow, together but also individually. As individuals, we grow in separate directions at different speeds.  What made us happy in our relationship yesterday might not quite cut it today.  Change happens, and now we have to sort out this new way of life and new way of thinking.

Relationship Challenges and ConcernsWhat was once a beautiful relationship now appears to be coming apart at the seams.  Are you or your partner falling out of love? Have you’ve hit the point where you don’t know what your partner needs from you emotionally and/or physically – or for that matter, you don’t even know what you yourself need?

Perhaps you’ve hit a major roadblock like an emotional or physical affair, a sense of betrayal, lack of trust, addictive behaviors, or family stress.  Maybe you can’t quite pinpoint what the problem is but just know it doesn’t feel like it used to.

You may even find times that it doesn’t seem worth the effort to make it better.

Yes, this can be exhausting. But don’t give up hope!

The good news is that you are not alone in this voyage.  Many, many people in relationships experience the same challenges you are facing and find ways to build a closer and more meaningful life together.

Our Therapists

Our therapists have been trained in and use the framework of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). This type of therapy is geared toward the importance of attachment bonds, recognizing the cycles where couples often get stuck (and feel distant), and learning how to change the way you and your partners relate to each other in meaningful ways.

We work within this framework for clients from a variety of relationship dynamics including D/s relationships, BDSM families, polyamory, swinging/LS, and monogamous couples — and help you work through your unique challenges together.

We know from personal experience and our work with relationships that when you pay real attention to each other and your relationship, when you take the time to regroup and refocus, magical things can happen.

And that’s what we are here to help you with: to bring back the magic!

At Affirming Therapy Center, our relationship therapists guide you to a better understanding of yourself and your needs, to see the perspectives of your partner or partners, and to find a common ground to continue building the relationship you desire and deserve.
